Blake Fraser is an award-winning screenwriter and director based in Sydney who grew up in a filmmaking family. His avid interest in drawing and the arts gained him an entrance into the prestigious National Art School (NAS) from 2000-2002.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, he went onto work professionally as a storyboard artist whilst studying acting and working in theatre and television across Australia and New Zealand.
In 2011, he attended the Australian Film Television and Radio School studying directing. His graduating film “Recon 6” was shortlisted for the Berlinale in 2012 and screened at Fantastic Fest, which he followed up with a Coming-of-Age short “Big City Lights” which played at the St Kilda Film Festival in 2013.
Since then he has worked professionally as a film director for advertisements, music clips and comedy sketches for live comedy show, Bonus Stage.
His first foray into short-form drama as Writer/Director, “Patricia Moore” was invited to MIPTV France as a finalist for the digital short form series pitch in 2017 and was commissioned by French streaming service Blackpills for release in 2018. It has since gone on to play at prestigious festivals around the world including Tribeca TV, Series Mania France, Series Fest Denver, and has won a slew of awards notably Best Australian Drama (Melb Web Fest)), Best Dramatic Series (Rio), Best Thriller (Minnesota) and Best Horror (Ozarks) to name a few, putting it at no.3 on the World Series World Cup.
